The community-based events in the lobby at the La Peña Cultural Center are full of music, arts, poetry and intellectual discussion. La Peña Cultural Center has also hosted events that have included former Chilean presidents Ricardo Lagos and Michelle Bachelet, novelist Isabel Allende and other renowned artists, musicians and dignitaries.
Monthly Events:
First Wednesday: East Bay Science Cafe, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Free Admission.
Alternate Sundays: Domingo de Rumba. An informal Afro-Cuban rumba percussion/dance party. 3:30-6:30 p.m. Free Admission
Forth Sunday: Mexican Tardeada, 3:00-6:00 p.m. Free Admission.
